Touring Requirements
As an OCA affiliated club we must conduct our activities in a safe and responsible manner by
following certain guidelines and practices. If we fail to do so it could jeopardize our
insurance coverage and seriously affect our ability to carry on our activities in the
future and we all have our part to play in making sure that our rides are both safe and
enjoyable for all participants. Below are some documents that cover various aspects of
these guidelines and practices for our non-competitive events so please take a little time
to familiarize yourself with each of them. The requirements for our competitive events are
necessarily different and can be found in the racing section of our website.
Every participant in a club event is expected to contribute in their own way to the successful
completion of the ride. Check out the
responsibilities of the individual riders and the tour leader.
All our non-competitive club activities are covered by a
risk management policy and it’s important
that we follow the guidelines contained in it.
As an OCA affiliated club we are insured for third party liability for all of our scheduled events. Please
familarize yourself with details of the coverage and the accident reporting procedure.
In the event that we encounter problems during a ride here is some advice on how to deal with the
police and aggressive drivers.
