2008 BCC Racing Team
The aim of the Brampton Cycling Club is to provide its members the
opportunity to be physically active through participaction, all the
while promoting safe cycling. Utimately, the club endeavours to attract
the interest of the future of cycling into the sport…namely the youth.
Another
mandate that the BCC has, through its affiliation with the Ontario
Cycling Association, is to provide a training platform for the
development of potential future Olympians and athletes competing on the
world stage.
This year, for the first time, the BCC is in a position to form its own racing team.
The
founding members will be OCA level competitive, and compete in OCA
sanctioned (including O-Cup) events throughout the coming racing
season. In order to be considered for the team, the following criteria
must be met :
- Active BCC member
- Be competitive at your OCA level age group
- Potential to place favourably at the event entered
- Wear the current BCC colours prominently while racing
- Not be a current member of any other racing team
This
is an open invitation to all BCC members who feel they might be good
candidates to form this inaugural BCC racing team. Remember, all
age groups are under consideration, and the hope is to attract the
young talent, who would be competing in the Youth Racing Series
organized by the OCA.
The BCC Racing Committee will reserve the
right to choose which applicants and how many will comprise this
inaugural racing team. Each team member will be supported by the
club with a sponsorship.
Please contact the VP Racing, Marc Heinig, at 905-542-4267 or by email at racing@bramptoncyclingclub.com. The deadline date for consideration will be Monday, March 24, 2008 Successful candidates will be notified the same week, prior to the commencement of the OCA racing schedule.
