News And Events11-Jul-09 Family Day Picnic We’ll be holding our second annual family Day Picnic in El Dorado Park in Brampton and the event is free to all current BCC members and their families. All 4 groups will meet at the park at staggered times to go on their respective rides and return at 1pm at which time our family members will join us. Please confirm your attendance together with party size as soon as possible and the closing date for registration is Thursday July 9th. Please check out the recent post on our forum for more details. 04-Jul-09 Touring Time Change The start time for the Classic and Sportif touring rides will be 8:30 AM as of July 4th. The start time will revert to a 9:00 AM start in September. Please check the Touring Schedule for more details.
30-May-09 Bike Eden Mills Picnic The ever popular Eden Mills picnic is back again this year. For new members of the club, this an official club event where all four groups meet for lunch. The rides will be staggered so that all the groups arrive around 11:00 AM. The club will be providing lunch club members only). However to enjoy this free meal, you must register for the event with the Touring VP, Andy Mallinson by Wednesday, May 27th the latest. Members failing to register will be required to pay $10. 17-May-09 Bike Safety & Skills Starting at 9:00am in the Meadowvale GO parking lot, the BCC will be holding a training session on bike handling skills & road safety awareness. The course will be in 11 parts & with each part taking around 20 minutes to complete. It is anticipated that the whole course will last about 4 hours. Please check the online forum for more details and indicate if you will be attending.
02-May-09 Events Adopt-A-Road
The Annual Spring Adopt-A-Road clean up will be held at the usual location at Old School Road & Creditview
Road at 9:00 AM sharp. Garbage bags and disposable gloves will be provided. Please arrive early and bring
proper footware. All groups depart from Terra Cotta after the clean-up. Parking at Terra Cotta or at the
school at King Street & Mississauga Road. Please watch the online forum for more details.
Touring New Start Time
As of May 2nd, the starting time for the Touring Group
rides will be 9:00 AM. Touring Saturday rides will revert back to a 10:00 AM start near the end of the
season. Please note that this change does not apply to the Classic or Sportif groups.
Easy Rollers First Ride
The Brampton Cycling Club welcomes the Easy Rollers as they begin their 2009 season. A special welcome to
all new members joining us for the first time.
12-Apr-09 Web Site Changes The VP Touring, Andy mallinson has done a tremendous job updating the touring section of the web site. It is very important that all club members take the time to read through the documents and familiarize themselves with the new information. Summary of Changes Touring Home - The contents of this page has changed. Touring Requirements - The contents of this page has changed. Touring Checklist - This page has been deleted. Touring Pace Line - The page "Touring Safety" was renamed to "Touring Pace Line" and the contents changed. Easy Roller Hints - This page has been deleted. Police & Motorist - New page with advise on dealing with police and agressive drivers. Risk Management Policy - New page guidelines for conducting a safe ride. Responsibilities - New page with responsibilities of the tour leader and ride participants. Accidents & Insurance - New page with details of the insurance coverage and guidelines to reporting an accident. Group Information - New page with information on each of the four touring groups (see touring home). Group Etiquette - New Page with best practices for riding in a group. There is also New Member page that aims to get new members started with the information that they will need.
