Welcome

Don't let the name fool you we cycle in many places besides Brampton! Founded in 1972, the Brampton Cycling Club is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and enjoying road riding in the western Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

We have active touring and racing programs aimed at riders who are semi-serious to very serious about their riding, but not so serious that we don't have a great time on our rides and at various social events that are sprinkled throughout the year!

Please browse the Touring and Racing sections to see what we have to offer. If you would like to join us, please visit our Membership section for details on joining the club, or visit our online forum to have a chat with us. Please do not hesitate to contact any member of the executives for further information.

News and Events

  • Why Do We Need Insurance?

Unfortunately liability insurance is a way life in our litigious society and has become a requirement for any organized activity such as our cycling club. Liability insurance protects the club, club members, tour leaders and executives from actions resulting from an incident. We are told that an uninsured cycling club in Scarborough folded because of an incident. We do not want the same thing to happen to the Brampton Cycling club.

We purchase our insurance from the OCA, who in turn set the rules for insurance and insurability. The OCA requires that all of our riders are insured under OCA without exception and go on to state that a ride will not be covered by the OCA policy if there are any uninsured riders in it. We don’t write the rules, all we can do is let our members know how the game is played.
